I recently purchased the latest Will Ferrell movie Semi Pro. At first watch I’m thinking semi good. It had it’s moments and it had it’s down times, there seems to be a growing theme with Will’s characters as the ultimate sex crazed ladies man, as he was in Blades of Glory. Will Ferrell has provided me great Entertainment over the years as Anchorman, Old School, Talladega Nights, are all classics in my collection. They have been watched over and over again and they always seem to get better the more I watch them.
I don’t know if Semi Pro will grow on me the same, I will give it another chance as I always do with Will Ferrell movies. I am fearful that his comedy may be getting old for me, but I hope not. Recently movies like Superbad & Grandma’s boy see more airtime in my DVD players. I look forward to some upcoming releases as they can’t all be hits.
I certainly look forward to the rumoured Old School 2 with the whole gang apparently returning Will, Vince, Luke nice. That is a classic and I hope it can live up to the first one, comedies are so hard to repeat and rarely ever live up to the first. I gaurantee you I will be in the thearter for that one. So as far as Semi pro goes I give it one thumb up and one half sideways.
I also watched I Think I Love My Wife with Chris Rock and I will let you know what I thought of that in my next blog.
